I went to the beach for 5 days... had a nice time. Made some new friends, turns out they only live about an hour away from me, so I will be seeing them again!! Nice to be home though.
Well, What is it that makes you feel old? Try waking up around 7am finding the movie Grease on your TV and remembering that you were only 15 when the movie came out. And there you are, caught up in the classic's of life. Only to find that classic are no longer your parents era but your own. You are now the one who's house the children come to at holidays to eat all the goodies, knowing they dont have to cook it. You are now singing along, knowing all the words to the songs played on the "classic country" radio station. Each song ringing some teenage memory in your head. Movies like Grease and Jaws and even yes, Freddie Cruger have touched that milestone of twenty something odd years ago, hard to believe I know. Back when the Nike tennis shoes were the thing to have along with red tag Levis. Im touching back twenty five years now..LOL. My grandson has open house today for pre-K... my age is telling on me. Something before his cute little butt showed up I could try an conceal. And soon it will be his turn. Wanting the latest gripper notebook for the first day of school, whatever style jean is hot on the market and of course the right shoes. As it is right now, 4 year olds dont have much of a social life, thank goodness. Because as it is, that beautiful blonde hair and those captivating eyes will have his mothers phone ringing off the hook one day. Friday will be his first day of school. I am interested in finding out how this will take place. As it is, we are his only baby sitter, have been all his life. His mother, my step daughter, has not properly planned for this new adventure coming forward in life as I have warned her to over the years. She has always taken jobs that did not fit around a baby's schedule leaving us to be his primary care taker. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my grandson with all my heart, but there are things in life, to me, that a mother should not only take part in, but want to take part in. She keeps a schedule on our refridgerator of her working hours. On this coming friday, his first day of school, her schedule starts at 7am.... I am waiting to see if she has made arrangements to post-pone her morning and take her child to school on his first day and meet his teachers and classmates. Not to mention she has chosen for him to attend school 30 miles away from where we live. She has not discussed with me at all about how she plans to manage this. I am afraid that I am unable to provide financially or health-wise transportation for this decision she has made, I am worried about how this adventure will go. In the meantime, I will sit back and see what is to unfold over the next few days.
OK, above you see the picture and value of a 2005 Hyundai Sonata. This is an identical likeness of my car, color and all. Out of curiosity today I looked up the Kelly Blue Book Value. I have been paying on this car for a little over two years, yet I owe about $1000 more than the blue book value still. I wish when someone decided to screw me, they would take me out to dinner first. And for those of you who say sell, nope, my credit has declined greatly since the purchase, the hopes of getting something else is about 10 years away. I must take care of this baby. Well, since being retired, the added mileage has almost come to a stop. I now only go to the doctor about 1-2 a month, and I only live three miles from a grocery store. No more 65 mile a day drive to work. So keeping the miles off should be pretty easy. Wear and tear? Yep, first month I bought it when it was beautiful, I dropped a smoke while driving, fell between my legs, nearly wrecked trying to pull over to find it, burnt the drivers seat... sigh. Sending my son off to IRAQ a little over a year ago... truck in front of me threw a rock while I was traveling trying not to miss his bus to see him off... 3 days later a crack runs across the bottom of the windshield. Very low bottom, not in drivers view, but still a crack. And its dirty, LOL. Why did I blog about this? Im so bored!
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Dave standing in for Amy Again..,
Amy cant get a break - she's back in the hospital tonight with the blood clot problem - its not getting better -AND- she has the same condition (Cellulitis) which led to the loss of part of her foot, has set up in her leg. Good reason to be extra concerned here!
She will have to be on IV meds AGAIN that can be vicious on the kidneys! She just got off of those drugs in late December just prior to her partial foot amputation in January. It pains me to see my bestest buddy in the world to go through this.
Keep those prayers coming! Amy really can use them right now. My problems aren't anything close to those she has right now, so save the big prayers for her and let me have the left overs for my back and thats good enough because I'll take those left over prayers and send back to her!
