IMPORTANT UPDATE: Dave standing in for Amy Again..,
Amy cant get a break - she's back in the hospital tonight with the blood clot problem - its not getting better -AND- she has the same condition (Cellulitis) which led to the loss of part of her foot, has set up in her leg. Good reason to be extra concerned here!
She will have to be on IV meds AGAIN that can be vicious on the kidneys! She just got off of those drugs in late December just prior to her partial foot amputation in January. It pains me to see my bestest buddy in the world to go through this.
Keep those prayers coming! Amy really can use them right now. My problems aren't anything close to those she has right now, so save the big prayers for her and let me have the left overs for my back and thats good enough because I'll take those left over prayers and send back to her!
This is Dave, filling in for Amy again...., Amy may very well be put back in the hospital tonight - she's on her way to the Emergency Room - no sooner than she makes her fresh Video Blog entry no less! Keep her in your prayers - her leg and her partially amputated foot is swollen and she's in pain. Blood clots and her diabetes make this very serious business. I'll post any new developments as soon as I know anything.
I remain, Amy's friend to the end ~ Dave
UPDATE: Monday 3-24-08 7:30 cst Amy was given the greenlight and sent home! No danger signs of the clot moving. A Lot of people were praying for her and thank everyone from Bix and elsewhere for their prayers.
The break out was successful - with the exception of misidentified smoking van remains. Hey, lt looked like a security van to me, how was I to know? (see last entry)
Anyway - Amy is home now and will give her account of things anytime - maybe even today if she gets time. It will be nice to see her update this blog for a change.
The doctors once again put Amy's release on hold. Whatever it is they measure in her blood (has to do with vitamin K I think) is not low enough to release her. Once that rates a 2 or less she can go home. When she gets to update this blog on her own - she's gunna have a lot to tell I'm guessing. She'll be summoning fire and brimstone! LOL.
On a serious note, Amy is fairly well bummed out about all the hype of letting her go home today - then pulling the rug from under her. They cant keep her forever - she'll be making a break for it - and I may help orchestrate the whole mission. Stay tuned while I slip on my black ops wear and smear on some face black.
She HAS to be released soon - somebody might start thinking this is my blog. Either that or erroneously believe Amy needs to shave... (dave emphasis rubbing his beard) .. OH! But wait! She might get access to a computer tomorrow unless they go back on their word about that. Another wait and see adventure I suppose. Keep your fingers, eyes and toes crossed. A prayer or two for an early release is good too!
