DAVEMAN UPDATES ON AMY: The adventures of Amy continues
FEMALE APPROXIMATELY 5'7" - BRUNETTE - WANTED FOR SMOKING AND STAGGERING. Sinister female suspect was apprehended once already by a dutiful Hospital Security Guard who potentially would have let a mugger go to apprehend the slower limping female suspect (easier prey) who was smoking near her carawayfrom the hospital.
Dutiful Hospital Security Guard escorted dangerous smoking criminal suspect (whom we will call Amy for the purposes if this entry) back to her hospital room, accusing the woman of being doped up on drugs because of her suspicious walk - the Security Guards keen eye determined this dangerous smoking suspect was not only smoking but staggering from drug use - and dismissed any possibility of the suspect (we call Amy) being a partial foot amputee as an excuse in walking a little differently than most other people.
Barney Fife would be proud of this graduate of Hospital Law enforcement. Yes, with devout security like this, you can be assured that no amputee minding their own business with bother you by minding their own business again.
Suspect could possibly be released from hospital custody Monday (3-17-08) - pending doctor & insurance company's motivations. We shall see, Hopefully Amy will get busted outta there and give her video report on the above misadventure.
As always I will keep you posted should things drag out and or she get busted for walking differently or smoking in or near her own car again. You gotta just love a woman who taunts law enforcement so brazenly. <smiles>
I miss my buddy lawts and lawts as do you. BUT they cant hold her forever! Until the next blog report..., I remain...,
Amy's friend and chief conspirator.., ~Daveman
NOTATION: Yeah I know most hospitals have "no smoking on premises" regs, but cheese. They seemingly seldom catch vandals, car thefts and some abductions (not that its much a problem on the average), but they go after smokers almost like felons. When a smoker is out of the hospital people area, I would think that would be enough. I fully understand the non-smoker's right to not breath cigarette smoke and respect that, but anymore, just the sight of someone smoking outside a million feet away sends idiots into a rabid frenzy. Take away the smokes, but keep something safe like alcohol out there - of which by the way contributes to more deaths than cigarettes ever will when you consider automobile accidents, pickled livers, lethal drug interaction when consumed with certain medications, domestic violence often due to alcohol abuse, work accidents and on and on the list can grow bigger and bigger.
CLOSING REMARKS: Any smoker who does not respect an individual's breathing space needs to be fined. However, when a smoker is away from the non smoker, said non smoker needs to keep his or her distance, and mouth shut. LOL. I had one experience where an elderly couple of non smokers "deliberately" placed themselves in my zone, just so they could complain. I'm sorry, but thats just not right.
This is Dave (I know you're surprised) filling in again! The lastest on Amy is - she's doing pretty good considering. She may possibly be released from the hospital as early as Monday or as late as Wednesday - or anytime in between (keep your fingers & toes crossed).
Pen suggested that Amy would find this song fun and I think she's 100% correct - so Im dedicating this song to Amy because it really is a FUN SONG!
It's me, Dave, updating for Amy yet again...., Amy is being hospitalized today - it seems her insurance will not pay for home treatment. Her official diagnosis is, Deep Vein Thrombosis, and as to how long she will be in the hospital at this point I can only take a unlearned guess - 3 days to a full week.
The important thing is she's getting treatment and being monitored. Your prayers and well wishes are deeply appreciated.
Updates will be posted as new details arise. ~ A worried, Dave
This is Dave, again stepping in for Amy. Just received news, Amy has a blood clot extending from her recent partially amputated foot to the back of her leg. She will be getting treatment at home from Home Health Care, for the next few days - and going back to the doctor on Friday (i think), and will be rechecked.
Hopefully she may update you further soon - if not then I'll be here to fill the gap on any new developments, as always.
This is Dave doing a quick fill in for Amy - she's busy revamping her computer - it had its own problems . Hopefully she'll be updating this page soon enough.
The complications that developed with Amy's foot (swollen & red) turned out to be a slight infection and a little bit of foot stress - I wont comment on that because if I did I would have to say "Told you so, Amy! Walk on your foot but don't over do it - isn't that what I said Amy?" BUT I wont say that. Nope not me. She is my buddy and best friend.., and as such wont say anything like "I told you so". (much).
Oh - and as I understand it - the Computer is doing great now as well. Nothing too serious. Just wanted to calm and assure you - Amy's computer is okay too. It will be up and operational in no time!
Well, no video tonight. Just a short update until I can do better...LOL. I got half my stiches out Friday. I hurt like..... I just cant describe it. I swear the doctor thinks either I am putting on or the biggest wuss he's ever seen, not to mention he has no sympathy for me at all, even acts a little sarcastic about it. Anyway, after pouting in bed all day Saturday about it, and watching Desperate Housewives (season one) I decided I wasnt going to prune over it any more, so I got up today. I put on my shoe, my velcro thingy one.. and went about the house and did the grin an bare it thing all day. I managed a lot today with out my cane at all...had lots of furniture close by to help guide me. I did laundry, and the biggest thing I am most proud of... I DROVE!!! YAY!! I am closer to normal than ever!!! I drove three miles to McDonalds, had a fish sandwich and some tea. The only thing I realized was I need to practice holding the brake firmer or maybe with a different part of my foot. And NO, sorry, but I just CANT use my left foot driving at all.... I tried, it is the most unnartural thing I think my body has ever tried to do. I just noticed that while sitting in the drive-through, my foot got achy, so I put it in park till I could move forward. I go back WED of this week to remove the rest of my stiches... I cant wait to get this over with... yall wish me luck! Any advice on how to make it pain free is appreciated!!!
OK, I had to spotlight this!! This is Dave singing "PLEASE". I had never heard the song before, and now I dont care if I EVER hear it by the orriginal artist because this version is AWESOME!!! Yall kick back and ENJOY!
